A Bird? Bath!

I know this looks like a box turtle cooling off a the edge of a pond but this little guy has actually taken over my bird’s favorite birdbath!  When I first found him in there I panicked thinking that he must have entered looking for a cool drink and was now trapped by the molded plastic walls so I gently picked him up and set him out into the grass.

Turtle SpaA little later I found him right back where he was – so I picked him up and gently set him down next to the birdbath.

After doing this for three days now I have decided that even though he is NOT an aquatic animal he enjoys his spa none-the-less and I will leave him alone.

As Montaigne once observed:  “Let us a little permit nature to take her own way; she better understands her own affairs than we.”
